Don't stress

Ha! How's that for a first tip? If you take away any advice I hope you take this, don't stress! There's no need to. I've been photographing families for 8 years, you can trust me! (Or I'm sure whoever your photographer is.) We're going to document your family and your pictures will be beautiful! Don't stress if the baby starts fussing, we can take a break to feed or change baby. I love to document those times too! Lots of times I'll go take pictures of the older siblings playing in the playroom or something. Don't stress about older kids either. In my experience, they're in they're element and are happy to be taking pictures with their new baby! Also they get breaks and aren't always having to sit still. Trust me and just enjoy! These pictures will be a treasure.

Plan ahead

As you're getting ready to meet your sweet baby, plan, order, wash, and iron outfits (If needed) before you have the baby. Then it's done! Look at your! So on top of it. Set them aside so they're ready to go for your session and you don't have to think about it again.

If that just isn't in the cards, have whomever is helping you after the baby get those things ready! Your mom, MIL, or put your husband to work to ensure everything is ready and off your to-do list. If all else fails, text your friend group and borrow clothes if you need to! Maybe that should be your first option! haha

Book a hair appointment for you and your family, or give your family haircuts before the baby comes so everyone's looking their best!

Don't tidy up

I know, surprise right! I mean, tidy up if you have the energy. But don't stress it! The truth is we can tidy up as we go. I honestly will throw clothes into a bathroom, or closet, or whatever I need to get things to look nice. Dishes can go in the sink, toys in the closet. A quick tidy up is all you need! Don't stress the deep clean!

Outfit choices

When choosing outfits for you and your family, choose simple solids. Patterns can be distracting and confuse our eyes on what to look at. No one wants that! You can't go wrong with neutrals. They're flattering to any skin tone and are beautiful to photograph! A color subdued color as an accent, like Kelsi's purple in this session can be fun too! Your backdrop is your home that you love and have worked so hard to bring together, so chose outfits to that will compliment your home colors and style. If you need help text me!
