Beautiful Springtime Mountain Engagements

Early spring can be a difficult time of year for portrait sessions. But not impossible! Logan and Averi scheduled their engagement session in April and they turned out absolutely gorgeous! As we were discussing locations, we could just barely see the tiniest of buds starting to spring to life on the surrounding trees so we knew we would have to be creative. To be honest I wasn't worried. We are surrounded by the so many of the most beautiful mountain locations in less the an hour drive! All we need is the natural light God gave us to make stunning portraits! We chose a secluded Swan Valley location that is now one of my all time favorite destinations for portraits! On the drive up I couldn't contain my excitement as I was watching the sun set perfectly behind the mountains. Dreamy light is a photographer's best friend!

Speaking of dreamy, Averi and Logan were an absolute dream too! Averi is a local esthetician and Logan a barber. They're so darling together and were so much fun! You'd be surprised to know it was NOT a warm spring day. But Averi was a trooper and rocked her beautiful spring dress like a champ. And Logan was so sweet and kept her nice a warm between shots!

Dreamy location + dreamy couple makes for a great day! I love to go on adventures with my family, and as we go, I'm always scouting for the perfect portrait location with stunning views and dreamy light. Swan Valley has the most stunning views and is one of our favorite scenic drives on a Sunday afternoon with the kids. We love to hike around Fall Creek Falls, then head to the tiny little city park for a picnic and game of wiffle ball. So many great memories in Swan Valley!

So next time your up for a drive, head to Swan Valley. I highly recommend going in the Fall. The tree colors are out of this world! Brilliant oranges, reds, and yellows. They're to die for!
